New Cross Inn appears to take influence from the multi-promotional DIY festival formula that Manchester Punk Festival is built on. The combination of Be Sharp Promotions, El Topo Bookings and Fishlock Promotions is building to be one of this summer’s most enjoyable weekends for ska and punk fans.
The weekend of the 21st to 23rd of July boasts a lineup featuring the most skank-worthy bands out there; Gritty Ska-punks, The Filaments, Dub-punks, King Prawn and popular US third wave ska act Big D and The Kids Table headline three dates at the South London venue. Then for support, a further eighteen acts have been named with more to come.
You will see a nice mixture of styles, including aggressive vibes from The Dancing Morons, while the likes of China Shop Bull and Popes of Chillitown show off their rap fronted dub punk. You can then take things down a notch with the chilled reggae act Tree House Fire.
